Annemarie Loth, MD is a full-time child and adolescent psychiatrist. She earned her medical degree with distinction in research from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine where she served as the chief resident. While there, she published academic articles on childhood schizophrenia and the adult outcomes of chronic irritability in childhood. She also honed interest for treating patients with eating disorders and sought further training at the Charis Center for Eating Disorders in Indianapolis.

Her continued interest in learning and respect for evidence-based treatment led her to be an assistant professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Louis University in the Department of Psychiatry. She served as a hospitalist on the child and adolescent inpatient
psychiatry units at DePaul Hospital and provided consultation and liaison and outpatient psychiatric services at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. She also served as the director of the Psychiatry Clerkship for medical students while also mentoring residents during their child and adolescent psychiatry rotations. During her time at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, she served on the multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment team where she provided evidence-based care to patients affected by severe eating disorders. She then moved to Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute where she served as the medical director of the adolescent eating disorder intensive outpatient program.

In addition to caring for patients with eating disorders, her other clinical interests include treating individuals with depression, anxiety disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Dr. Loth aims to build a therapeutic rapport with her patients and their parents that is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and parent management therapy while also utilizing medication in a thoughtful way. Her goal is to help pediatric patients see their potential without mental health impairing them during that
journey. She is board-certified in both adult and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
